Routing to an optimal electric vehicle charger

A vehicle comprising:

• a processor that executes instructions stored in a memory to configure the processor to:
• determine a point of interest (POI) based on a preference of an occupant of the vehicle,
• identify a plurality of charging stations based on a current location of the vehicle and the POI,
• identify a charging station from the plurality of charging stations based on distances from the current location to the plurality of charging stations and an attribute of the POI,
• autonomously control the vehicle to travel to the charging station,
• detect that the occupant has left the vehicle during a charging operation by the charging station,
• upon identification of a change in a status of the charging station, automatically send a message to a mobile device to cause the mobile device to display the change in status,
• upon detection that the mobile device is moving away from the vehicle after the change in status has been displayed, automatically prompt the mobile device to request that the occupant perform an action.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by a processor of a vehicle, cause the processor to perform:

• determining a point of interest (POI) based on a preference of an occupant of the vehicle;
• identifying a plurality of charging stations based on a current location of the vehicle and the POI;
• identifying a charging station from the plurality of charging stations based on distances from the current location to the plurality of charging stations and an attribute of the POI;
• autonomously controlling the vehicle to travel to the charging station;
• determining that the occupant has left the vehicle during a charging operation by the charging station;
• upon identifying a change in a status of the charging station, automatically sending a message to a mobile device to cause the mobile device to display the change in status;
• upon detecting that the mobile device is moving away from the vehicle after the change in status has been displayed, automatically prompting the mobile device to request that the occupant perform an action.
