Abstract
An example operation includes one or more of providing, by a battery, electricity to a device, determining a configuration of the provided electricity based on a first battery management system (BMS) that contains voltage and current requirements, and configuring a second BMS, based on the determining.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- detachably coupling an auxiliary battery to a device that includes an internal battery through an external port of the device;
- determining a state of charge (SOC) of the internal battery with a battery management system (BMS) of the internal battery, wherein the SOC is determined based on information received via a communication from a BMS of the auxiliary battery which includes a SOC of the auxiliary battery;
- determining whether to supply power to a power consuming component of the device from the auxiliary battery or the internal battery of the device based on a comparison of the SOC of the internal battery to a SOC threshold that controls selection of the auxiliary battery or the internal battery;
- and
- configuring a switch within the device to control the power consuming component of the device to receive power directly from the auxiliary battery based on the determination.

A system, comprising:
- at least one processor;
- and
- a memory, wherein the at least one processor and the memory are communicably coupled, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
- detachably couple an auxiliary battery to a device that includes an internal battery through an external port of the device;
- determine a state of charge (SOC) of the internal battery with a battery management system (BMS) of the internal battery, wherein the SOC is determined based on information received via a communication from a BMS of the auxiliary battery which includes a SOC of the auxiliary battery;
- determine whether to supply power to a power consuming component of the device from the auxiliary battery or the internal battery of the device based on a comparison of the SOC of the internal battery to a SOC threshold that controls selection of the auxiliary battery or the internal battery;
- and
- configure a switch within the device to control the power consuming component of the device to receive power directly from the auxiliary battery based on the determination.

A computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions, that when read by a processor, cause the processor to perform:
- detachably coupling an auxiliary battery to a device that includes an internal battery through an external port of the device;
- determining a state of charge (SOC) of the internal battery based on a battery management system (BMS) of the internal battery, wherein the SOC is determined based on information received via a communication from a BMS of the auxiliary battery which includes a SOC of the auxiliary battery;
- determining whether to supply power to a power consuming component of the device from the auxiliary battery or the internal battery of the device based on a comparison of the SOC of the internal battery to a SOC threshold that controls selection of the auxiliary battery or the internal battery;
- and
- configuring a switch within the device to control the power consuming component of the device to receive power directly from the auxiliary battery based on the determination.
