A shelf safety pin assembly for a cabinet comprising at least one removable shelf, the shelf safety pin assembly comprising:
- a bracket having a longitudinal bore formed therein, the bore extending in a longitudinal direction;
- a safety pin extending in the longitudinal direction from a handle end to an engagement end having a rear-facing stopping surface and a forward-facing camming surface,
- wherein the safety pin is coupled to the bracket and is moveable in the longitudinal direction with respect to the bracket, and
- wherein a guide pin is fixed to the safety pin and extends radially outward from the safety pin through the longitudinal bore in the bracket, thereby preventing rotation of the safety pin, including the rear-facing stopping surface and the forward-facing camming surface;
- and
- a spring configured to bias the safety pin in the longitudinal direction.
