Abstract
A vibration canceling system for an aircraft includes a vibration canceling structure having a first surface opposite a second surface and a cavity between the first surface and the second surface. The cavity contains a substantially incompressible fluid. The system includes a force generator configured to transmit forces to the substantially incompressible fluid to move the first surface relative to the second surface and a sensor positioned at the first surface. The sensor is configured to sense a motion of the first surface. The system includes a controller configured to control the force generator to transmit a first force to the substantially incompressible fluid to move the first surface out of phase with the sensed motion.

A vibration canceling system for an aircraft, comprising:
- a vibration canceling structure having a first surface opposite a second surface and a cavity between the first surface and the second surface, the cavity containing a substantially incompressible fluid;
- a force generator configured to transmit forces to the substantially incompressible fluid to move the first surface relative to the second surface;
- a sensor positioned at the first surface, the sensor configured to sense a motion of the first surface;
- and
- a controller configured to control the force generator to transmit a first force to the substantially incompressible fluid to move the first surface out of phase with the sensed motion.
A method for canceling vibrations of an aircraft, comprising:
- sensing, at a sensor, motion at an occupant-facing surface of a vibration canceling system;
- and
- controlling, with a controller, a force generator to move the occupant-facing surface of the vibration canceling system out of phase with the sensed motion;
- wherein:
- the vibration canceling system comprises a vibration canceling structure having a first surface opposite a second surface and a cavity between the first surface and the second surface,
- the occupant-facing surface is the first surface,
- the cavity contains a substantially incompressible fluid,
- the force generator is configured to transmit forces to the substantially incompressible fluid to move the first surface relative to the second surface, and
- the sensor is positioned at the first surface.
