Robotic arm cart having locking swivel joints and other position adjustment features and uses therefor

An apparatus, comprising:

• a robotic arm;
• and
• a cart, including:
• a moveable base;
• an arm support for holding the robotic arm, wherein the arm support comprises a lifting member for lifting and placing the robotic arm onto a portion of a surgical table to separate the robotic arm from the arm support;
• and
• a linear rail mounted on the moveable base, wherein the arm support is mounted on the linear rail such that the arm support is configured to translate along the linear rail, wherein the linear rail is rotatably coupled to the moveable base such that the linear rail is configured to rotate about a vertical axis that runs through a horizontal plane of the moveable base.

A robotic surgical system comprising:

• a robotic arm comprising a coupler with a structure;
• a surgical table comprising a table adapter with a recessed structure;
• and
• a cart, including:
• a moveable base;
• and
• an arm support configured to hold the robotic arm, wherein the arm support comprises a lifting member configured to lift the robotic arm and place the structure of the robotic arm within the recessed structure such that the surgical table supports the robotic arm.
