Wearable medical module for wound treatment, imaging, monitoring and analysis based on images of wound

A system comprising:

• a wearable medical article configured to be placed over or with respect to a body surface region of a patient;
• and
• a module configured to be mounted to, embedded in, or integrated with a wearable medical article, wherein the module comprises:
• a flexible standoff comprising at least one external sidewall and at least one distal surface, said flexible standoff configured to allow the at least one distal surface to at least partially follow a contour of the body surface region of the patient;
• a plurality of imaging sensors, individual ones of said imaging sensors comprising a two-dimensional optical detector array and a lens configured to form an image on said two-dimensional optical detector array to image a sub-region of said body surface region of said patient, said imaging sensors capturing images of said sub-regions of said body surface region at one or more visible, infrared, near infrared or ultra-violet wavelengths, said lens comprising a wide angle lens;
• and
• light sources configured to provide illumination to at least a portion of the body surface region of the patient, said light sources comprising six light sources surrounding a respective imaging sensor closest thereto, said six light sources comprising three pairs of light sources, each of said three pairs of light sources comprising first and second light sources on opposite sides of said imaging sensor closest to the light source,
• wherein said flexible standoff provides a distance between the plurality of imaging sensors and the body surface region of the patient and includes an opening therein for passage of light, said standoff being ring-shaped, the opening in the standoff being defined by one or more internal sidewalls of the standoff, the distance between the one or more internal sidewalls on opposing sides of the opening being wider than the distance between the internal sidewall and the external sidewall on one of said sides, the standoff comprising foam,
• wherein said imaging sensors have a working distance of from 0.5 to 3 centimeters, and
• wherein different imaging sensors are configured to image different, respective sub-sections of the body surface region and said imaged respective sub-sections of the body surface region partially overlap.
