Abstract
Embodiments disclosed herein include a server drawer. The server drawer may include a lower deck heat exchanger with an inlet, an outlet, and a fluid pump. The server drawer may also include an upper deck heat exchanger located in an upper airflow path after first heat producing elements and before a component of concern, and a manifold. The manifold may include distributors connecting i) the inlet to the upper deck heat exchanger and ii) the outlet to the upper deck heat exchanger. The fluid pump may pump cooled fluid between the upper deck heat exchanger and the lower deck heat exchange.
Claims13
A server drawer, comprising:
- a lower deck heat exchanger comprising an inlet, an outlet, and a fluid pump;
- an upper deck heat exchanger located in an upper airflow path after first heat producing elements and before a component of concern that comprises an electrical component;
- a manifold comprising distributors connecting I) the inlet to the upper deck heat exchanger and ii) the outlet to the upper deck heat exchanger, wherein the fluid pump pumps cooled fluid between the upper deck heat exchanger and the lower deck heat exchanger.
An inter-deck cooling system, comprising:
- a first heat exchanger comprising an inlet, an outlet, and a fluid pump configured to fit within a first deck of a server drawer;
- a second heat exchanger configured to fit in a second deck of the server drawer;
- and
- a manifold comprising distributors connecting i) the inlet to the second heat exchanger and ii) the outlet to the second heat exchanger, wherein the fluid pump pumps cooled fluid to the second deck heat exchanger from the first heat exchanger.
