Abstract
The invention relates to a secondary alkane sulfonate surfactant, wherein at least 70 wt. % of the secondary alkane sulfonate is a secondary alkane sulfonate (SAS) surfactant having linear alkyl chains of from 15 to 18 carbon atoms; wherein less than 30% of the secondary alkane sulfonate (SAS) surfactant has linear alkyl chains of 14 carbon atoms or lower; the invention also concerns a detergent composition comprising the secondary alkane sulfonate surfactant; the invention also concerns a method, preferably a domestic method of treating a textile.
Claims17
A detergent composition comprising:
- from 1 to 40 wt. % of a secondary alkane sulfonate surfactant comprising linear alkyl chains, wherein at least 85 wt. % of the secondary alkane sulfonate surfactant has linear alkyl chains of from 15 to 18 carbon atoms and less than 15 wt. % of the secondary alkane sulfonate surfactant has linear alkyl chains of 14 carbon atoms or lower;
- from 1 to 60 wt. % of further surfactants selected from further anionic surfactants excluding the secondary alkane sulfonate surfactant;
- non-ionic surfactants;
- and optionally, from 0.001 to 3 wt. % of a perfume.
