Device for producing rolled grain layer and method of producing rolled grain layer using same

A production apparatus for a rolled particle layer, the apparatus comprising:

• a feeding unit that feeds particles;
• a conveying unit that conveys the particles fed by the feeding unit;
• a support unit that supports the particles conveyed by the conveying unit;
• a squeegee unit disposed above the support unit with a gap between the squeegee unit and the support unit, the squeegee unit leveling the particles at the gap to form a particle layer;
• a pair of stock guide units that define a width of the particle layer;
• and
• a rolling unit that rolls the particle layer to form a rolled particle layer, wherein
• the squeegee unit has a thickness defining portion closest to the support unit for defining a thickness of the particle layer at the gap,
• each of the pair of stock guide units includes:
• a parallel portion that includes a face parallel to and facing an end face of the squeegee unit and that has an upstream end portion located upstream relative to the thickness defining portion and a downstream end portion located downstream relative to the thickness defining portion;
• and
• a projecting portion that is disposed upstream relative to the thickness defining portion and protrudes toward a center in a width direction of the squeegee unit for adjusting an amount of the particles flowing to end portions in the width direction of the particle layer, and
• the pair of stock guide units is disposed so that a distance W between the parallel portions of the respective stock guide units corresponds to a width of the rolled particle layer.
