A sliding member with improved wear resistance. The sliding member including a base layer and a resin coating layer formed on the base layer; where the resin coating layer includes a polyamidimide resin as a binder; a solid lubricant; boehmite particles of greater than 0 vol % and less than or equal to 1.0 vol %; and inevitable impurities.

A sliding member comprising a base layer and a resin coating layer formed on the base layer;
- wherein
- the resin coating layer includes,
- a polyamidimide resin as a binder;
- a solid lubricant;
- boehmite particles of greater than 0 vol % and less than or equal to 1.0 vol %;
- and
- inevitable impurities;
- wherein
- the solid lubricant is molybdenum disulfide, and the molybdenum disulfide is 28 vol % to 40 vol % of the resin coating layer, and
- the resin coating layer is a surface layer having a surface that constitutes a sliding surface with a mating material.
