Abstract
Alkylsulfenyl thiocarbonates capable of releasing hydropersulfides (RSSH) and carbonyl sulfide (COS) under physiological conditions and their use for treating or preventing disorders, diseases, or conditions associated with oxidative stress, impaired Fe—S cluster biosynthesis, including Friedreich's Ataxia, and anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity, including cardiomyopathy and heart failure, are described.
