Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for treating wastewater containing a furan compound, a microbial preparation for use in the method, a method for high density culture of a microorganism for use in the above method, and a method for producing a microbial preparation by using the culture method.
Claims12
A method for treating wastewater, comprising
- contacting wastewater containing a furan compound with at least one selected from the group consisting of:
- a microorganism belonging to the genus Comamonas;
- a microorganism belonging to the genus Burkholderia;
- and a microorganism belonging to the genus Paraburkholderia,
- wherein the microorganism belonging to the genus Comamonas is Comamonas testosteroni and/or Comamonas thiooxydans;
- the microorganism belonging to the genus Burkholderia is Burkholderia multivorans;
- the microorganism belonging to the genus Paraburkholderia is Paraburkholderia xenovorans.
A method for treating wastewater, comprising
- contacting wastewater containing a furan compound with at least one selected from the group consisting of:
- a microorganism belonging to the genus Comamonas, a microorganism belonging to the genus Burkholderia, and a microorganism belonging to the genus Paraburkholderia,
- wherein the microorganism belonging to the genus Comamonas is Comamonas testosteroni and/or Comamonas thiooxydans;
- the microorganism belonging to the genus Burkholderia is Burkholderia multivorans;
- the microorganism belonging to the genus Paraburkholderia is Paraburkholderia xenovorans, and
- the contacting comprises contacting the wastewater and the at least one microorganism in the presence of a membrane separator.
A method for culturing a microorganism belonging to the genus Comamonas, or a microorganism belonging to the genus Paraburkholderia, the method comprising culturing the microorganism in a culture medium comprising gluconic acid
- wherein the culture medium comprising the microorganism has an optical density of 15 or more at a wavelength of 660 nm, 24 hours after initiation of culture.
A method for culturing a microorganism belonging to the genus Comamonas, a microorganism belonging to the genus Burkholderia or a microorganism belonging to the genus Paraburkholderia, comprising a step of culturing the microorganism in a culture medium comprising gluconic acid,
- wherein the microorganism has a proliferation rate of 0.2 g/L/hr or more on a basis of dry weight of microbial cells.
