Control device and control method

A control device that includes

• a first circuitry including a processor configured to execute a predetermined control process for controlling an operation of the control device;
• a temperature sensor configured to detect at least a temperature of the first circuitry;
• and
• a second circuitry configured to control activation and deactivation of the first circuitry based on the temperature detected by the temperature sensor, wherein
• the entire temperature sensor is built in the second circuitry,
• the second circuitry is further configured to
• have a first threshold and a second threshold larger than the first threshold as thresholds related to the temperature detected by the temperature sensor,
• activate the first circuitry on a condition that a temperature detection value that is a value of the temperature detected by the temperature sensor is less than or equal to the first threshold,
• deactivate the first circuitry after activation of the first circuitry on a condition that the temperature detection value is larger than the second threshold,
• activate the first circuitry by supplying at least a power supply voltage to the first circuitry, and
• deactivate the first circuitry by stopping the supply of at least the power supply voltage to the first circuitry,
• when the second circuitry determines that the temperature detection value is larger than the second threshold, the second circuitry is configured to
• stop the supply of the power supply voltage to the first circuitry,
• continue to monitor the temperature of the first circuitry using the temperature sensor built in the second circuitry while the supply of the power supply voltage to the first circuitry is stopped, and
• maintain the stop of the supply of the power supply voltage to the first circuitry until determining that the temperature detection value is less than or equal to the first threshold.
