Thumb-actuated locking holster system

An adapter assembly, comprising:

• a leg strap adapter assembly comprising a central, vertical axis and a horizontal axis;
• one or more holes disposed along the central, vertical axis of the leg strap adapter assembly;
• and
• a horizontal retention element disposed along the horizontal axis of the leg strap adapter assembly and configured to receive at least one of a strap and a belt,
• a belt engaging member;
• a waist belt received in the belt engaging member;
• wherein the leg strap adapter assembly is configured to be rotatably coupled to the belt engaging member through the one or more holes disposed along the central, vertical axis of the leg strap adapter assembly, the leg strap adapter assembly not configured to directly mount to a holster.

An adapter assembly, comprising:

• a leg strap adapter assembly comprising:
• a central, vertical aXis and a horizontal axis;
• one or more holes disposed along the central, vertical aXis of the leg strap adapter assembly;
• and
• a horizontal retention element disposed along the horizontal aXis of the leg strap adapter assembly and configured to receive at least one of a strap and a belt,
• at least one of a belt engaging member and a holster;
• wherein the leg strap adapter assembly is configured to be rotatably coupled to the at least one of a belt engaging member and a holster through the one or more holes disposed along the central, vertical aXis of the leg strap adapter assembly, the leg strap adapter assembly is configured to attach to a distal end of the at least one of the holster and the belt engaging member.
