Abstract
A side protection mechanism for safety seat includes a pivotal connection mount, a side protection block pivotally connected to the pivotal connection mount, and a motor disposed in the pivotal connection mount. The motor is connected to the side protection block to drive the side protection block to rotate relative to the pivotal connection mount to fold or unfold. A safety seat includes a seat body and the side protection mechanism on a side of seat body. After the side protection block rotates to unfold, the side protection block protrudes from the seat body and a locking block of the side protection block is located outside and directly in front of a locking slot of the connection mount.

A side protection mechanism disposed on a safety seat, the side protection mechanism comprising:
- a pivotal connection mount having a locking slot;
- a side protection block pivotally connected to the pivotal connection mount, the side protection block comprising a locking block;
- and
- a motor disposed in the pivotal connection mount, the motor being connected to the side protection block to drive the side protection block to rotate relative to the pivotal connection mount to fold or unfold, wherein after the side protection block rotates to unfold, the locking block is located outside the locking slot and directly in front of the opening of the locking slot.
