System and method for dynamic registration and utilization of QR-code identifiers on physical media

A method for dynamically registering and utilizing QR-codes, the method comprising:

• (i) generating a QR-code representing a unique URL, which is comprised of a domain, and a base-code;
• wherein the base code comprises a first element and a second element and a third element, and wherein said first element of the base code categorizes the QR-code into different application types;
• and said second element of the base code represents a cryptographic signature;
• and said third element of the base code is the signature and is generated using a hash of a rest of the base code concatenated with a secret key,
• (ii) providing the QR-code generated to a first user possessing a smart-phone capable of scanning the QR code;
• (iii) enabling said first user, using said smart-phone, to scan the QR-code for a first time, whereby said first user is directed to a registration website;
• (iv) registering the QR-code with a specific registered action associated with a person, location, animal or thing;
• (v) storing the registration information in an information storage means;
• (vi) performing the registered action upon subsequent scanning of the QR-code by a second user, and
• (vii) allowing said first user to update aspects of the registration.
