Washing machine and method for controlling the same

A method of controlling a washing machine including a tub, a water supply valve configured to open or close a flow path to supply water to the tub, a memory storing water pressure information that includes water supply operation time of the water supply valve, and a controller, the method comprising:

• by the controller,
• controlling the water supply valve to supply water to the tub to a target water level;
• determining whether water pressure of the water supplied by the water supply valve is abnormal based on supplying the water to the tub to the target water level;
• based on determining that the water pressure of the water supply valve is abnormal, updating the water pressure information stored in the memory by adjusting the water supply operation time;
• and
• using the updated water pressure information stored in the memory to control the water supply valve in an operation course of the washing machine.
