Power tool operation recording and playback

A method of operating a power tool, the method comprising:

• receiving, with a first electronic processor of a first power tool, tool operation data recorded by a sensor of the first power tool during operation of a first motor of the first power tool;
• transmitting, via a first transceiver of the first power tool, the tool operation data to a first external device, a server, or both the first external device and the server;
• receiving, with a second electronic processor of a second power tool and via a second transceiver of the second power tool, a motor parameter from the first external device, a second external device, or the server, wherein the motor parameter is based on the tool operation data recorded by the sensor of the first power tool;
• determining, with the second electronic processor, that an actuator of the second power tool has been actuated;
• and
• controlling, with the second electronic processor, a second motor of the second power tool in accordance with the motor parameter in response to determining that the actuator has been actuated.

An external device comprising:

• a transceiver;
• and
• an electronic processor connected to the transceiver, the electronic processor configured to:
• receive, via the transceiver, tool operation data recorded by a sensor of a first power tool of a first user during operation of a first motor of the first power tool, and
• transmit, via the transceiver, a motor parameter to a second power tool of a second user,
• wherein the motor parameter is based on the tool operation data, and
• wherein the motor parameter indicates that a second motor of the second power tool is controlled, in response to an actuator of the second power tool being actuated, in accordance with the motor parameter regardless of whether a trigger activation signal indicative of an amount of actuation of the actuator matches the motor parameter.
