Abstract
The invention provides aflame retardant composition comprising and ammonium polyphosphate a silane functionalised ethylene copolymer.
Claims17
A flame retardant composition comprising:
- a) an ammonium polyphosphate represented by the formula [NH4PO3]n, wherein n is greater than 1000;
- and
- b) a silane functionalised ethylene copolymer, which is a copolymer of ethylene and a silane containing comonomer and optionally one or more further comonomers;
- wherein the melt flow rate, MFR2, of the silane functionalized ethylene copolymer is 0.1 to 10 g/10 min;
- and
- wherein a weight ratio of the ammonium polyphosphate to the silane functionalized ethylene copolymer is in the range 9:1 to 3:1.

- a) an ammonium polyphosphate;
- and
- b) a silane functionalized ethylene copolymer;
- wherein the melt flow rate, MFR2, of the silane functionalized ethylene copolymer is 0.1 to 10 g/10 min;

- wherein a weight ratio of the ammonium polyphosphate to the silane functionalized ethylene copolymer is in the range 9:1 to 3:1.
