Abstract
A feed system includes a wear pad and one or more hold downs. The wear pad is operable to provide a seal over at least one pressure port and at least one corresponding material port of a feed wheel. The wear pad is in fluid communication with a pneumatic supply operable to provide pneumatic gas to the pressure port to discharge material from the material port. The hold downs are operable to apply pressure against the wear pad such that the hold downs provide consistent, equal pressure to the wear pad against the feed wheel.
Claims16
A feed system comprising:
- a wear pad operable to provide a seal over at least one pressure port and at least one corresponding material port of a feed wheel, the wear pad being in fluid communication with a pneumatic supply operable to provide pneumatic gas to the at least one pressure port to discharge material from the at least one corresponding material port;
- one or more hold downs operable to apply pressure against the wear pad such that the one or more hold downs provide consistent, equal pressure to the wear pad against the feed wheel;
- and
- a base operable to receive the feed wheel, wherein the base includes a rotary component operable to receive the feed wheel while the feed wheel rotates about a central axis, wherein the rotary component includes at least one bearing, wherein each of the at least one bearing includes at least one ball transfer that each includes a housing and a load ball received in the housing.
