Abstract
A personal audio assistant includes a first microphone for capturing audio, a logic circuit coupled to the first microphone, a communication module coupled to the logic circuit, a memory storage unit communicatively coupled to the logic circuit, and a user interaction element. The interaction element is configured to perform at least one among accessing selection of audio content via an audio input received at the first microphone or determining a user preference of audio content by tracking genre of content selected, artist of content selected, and at least one among the day of the week or time of day. Other embodiments are disclosed.
Claims9
An earphone comprising:
- an ambient microphone, configured to generate an ambient signal;
- an ear canal microphone, configured to measure acoustic signals within a user's ear canal and generate an ear canal signal;
- a sealing section configured to seal the earphone between a first side and a second side of the earphone;
- a speaker;
- a memory, where computer instructions are stored in the memory;
- and
- a processor that is configured to execute the instructions to perform operations, wherein the processor is coupled to the memory, wherein the processor is coupled to the ambient microphone, wherein the processor is coupled to the ear canal microphone, wherein the processor is coupled to the speaker, wherein the processor is coupled to the memory, and the operations comprising:
- retrieving a user's compensation filter from the memory, wherein the compensation filter is generated using a user's relative audiogram, wherein the relative audiogram has been generated by the user interacting with a software on an audio playback system playing sounds through the earphone, wherein the audio playback system is wirelessly connected to the earphone, and wherein the relative audiogram is generated using ear canal signals recorded during the user interacting with the software to generate the relative audio gram;
- wirelessly linking with a communication device, wherein the communication device includes a touchscreen, wherein the communication device or a server connected to the communication device evaluates the user's listening history to generate a personalized playlist, and wherein the personalized playlist is displayed on the touchscreen;
- receiving an audio signal, wherein the audio signal is generated by selecting audio content from the personalized playlist;
- applying the compensation filter to the audio signal to generate a modified audio signal;
- and
- sending the modified audio signal to the speaker.
