Method for texturing discrete substrates

A flexible stamp for roll-to-plate texturing or patterning discrete substrates, said flexible stamp comprising material having a Young's Modulus of between 0.1 Giga Pascal (GPa) and 10 Giga Pascal (GPa) and the flexible stamp comprising a flexible stamp base comprising:

• an imprint texture comprising void volumes and a reservoir texture formed at at least one edge of an outer surface of the imprint texture, wherein the reservoir texture is configured to control overflow of surplus imprinting lacquer and is formed by a plurality of openings and elevations forming domains of greater void volumes which are 1.5 to 20 times greater than the void volumes of the imprint texture;
• wherein the elevations are a same height or higher than a height of the imprint texture to prevent the flexible stamp from bending when the flexible stamp is pressed by a roller onto a substrate, with the elevations in contact with the substrate, with imprinting lacquer between the flexible stamp and the substrate;
• and
• wherein the imprint texture and the reservoir texture are imprinted textures which comprise a residual layer between the flexible stamp base and the respective void volumes and the domains of greater void volumes, and wherein a filler material is present between the residual layer and the flexible stamp base at the location of the imprint texture such that a thickness of the combination of the filler material and the residual layer of the imprint texture is larger than a residual layer thickness of the residual layer of the reservoir texture.
