Wireless sensor nodes for equipment monitoring

A system comprising:

• a first wireless sensor device attached to a first object of interest, the first wireless sensor device comprising:
• a sensor configured to generate first sensor data on a property of the first object of interest, and
• a first wireless communication interface;
• a first wireless node located within a distance from the first wireless sensor device corresponding to a first communication range of the first wireless communication interface of the first wireless sensor device, the first wireless node comprising:
• a memory,
• a processor,
• a first wireless communication interface compatible with the first wireless communication interface of the first wireless sensor device, and
• a second wireless communication interface having a second communication range that is larger than the first communication range,
• wherein the first wireless sensor device is configured to communicate with the first wireless node using the first wireless communication interface of the first wireless sensor device and the first wireless communication interface of the first wireless node;
• and
• a section controller located within a distance from the first wireless node corresponding to the second communication range, the section controller configured to:
• receive a first report of an event from the first wireless node via a second wireless communication interface of the section controller;
• determine, from the first report, that the event requires further investigation by a user of the system, based on an analysis of the first report;
• and
• transmit a second report of the event to a server using a third wireless communication interface of the section controller.
