Systems and methods for block partitioning and interleaved coding order for multiview video coding

A computing system, comprising:

• control circuitry;
• memory;
• and
• one or more sets of instructions stored in the memory and configured for execution by the control circuitry, the one or more sets of instructions comprising instructions for:
• receiving video data comprising a plurality of blocks, wherein the plurality of blocks includes a first block in a first frame corresponding to a first view and a second block in a second frame corresponding to a second view;
• determining whether block partitioning modes for the first block and the second block are to be signaled jointly or separately;
• and
• when the block partitioning modes are to be signaled jointly, signaling in a video bitstream a first indicator indicating that the block partitioning modes are signaled jointly;
• and
• signaling, via the video bitstream, a first set of syntax elements corresponding to the first view interleaved with a second set of syntax elements corresponding to the second view.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium storing a video bitstream that is generated by a video encoding method, the video encoding method comprising:

• receiving video data comprising a plurality of blocks, wherein the plurality of blocks includes a first block in a first frame corresponding to a first view and a second block in a second frame corresponding to a second view;
• determining whether block partitioning modes for the first block and the second block are to be signaled jointly or separately;
• and
• when it is determined that the block partitioning modes are to be signaled jointly, signaling in a video bitstream a first indicator indicating that the block partitioning modes are signaled jointly;
• and
• signaling, via the video bitstream, a first set of syntax elements corresponding to the first view interleaved with a second set of syntax elements corresponding to the second view;
• and
• wherein the video bitstream comprises the first indicator indicating that the block partitioning modes are signaled jointly, the first set of syntax elements corresponding to the first view interleaved, and the second set of syntax elements corresponding to the second view.
