Data analysis system and method

A system comprising:

• one or more computer readable storage mediums having program instructions embodied therewith;
• and
• one or more processors configured to execute the program instructions to cause the system to:
• access a plurality of datasets, wherein the plurality of datasets includes tables such that each table comprises rows representing objects and columns representing properties;
• determine a global property indicating one or more columns that are associated with a portion of data in two or more of the plurality of datasets;
• access an ontology associated with the plurality of datasets, wherein the ontology comprises an object graph indicating a relationship between the two or more of the plurality of datasets, and wherein the ontology comprises metadata associated with the portion of data describing at least a display property of the portion of data;
• generate, based at least in part on one or more user inputs, display information comprising:
• the global property,
• the relationship between the two or more of the plurality of datasets, and
• the display property, wherein the display property described by the metadata indicates an available interaction with the portion of the data provided by the display information;
• and
• in response to a query relating to the plurality of datasets, use the display information to determine how response data responding to the query should be provided.
