Method for supporting paging early indication with paging subgrouping assistance and user equipment thereof

A user equipment (UE), the UE comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one computer memory operably connectable to the at least one processor and storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, perform operations comprising:
• determining that the UE supports paging early indication with paging subgrouping assistance (PEIPS) assistance information;
• generating, by the UE which supports the PEIPS assistance information, a paging subgrouping capability indication which indicates UE's capability to support PEIPS assistance information;
• generating a registration request message including the paging subgrouping capability indication;
• inserting, by the UE which supports the PEIPS assistance information, UE's paging probability information in a requested PEIPS assistance information of the registration request message for initiating the registration procedure;
• transmitting the registration request message for initiating the registration procedure to an access and mobility management function (AMF) in a network;
• and
• receiving a first message including the PEIPS assistance information from the AMF in the network,
• wherein the PEIPS assistance information includes a paging subgroup identifier (ID),
• wherein a non-access stratum (NAS) layer of the UE indicates the PEIPS assistance information including the paging subgroup ID to a lower layer of the UE.

A semiconductor chipset equipped into a user equipment (UE), comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• at least one memory capable of storing instructions and being connected electrically to the at least one processor operably,
• wherein an operation, performed when the instructions are executed by the at least one processor, includes:
• determining that the UE supports paging early indication with paging subgrouping assistance (PEIPS) assistance information;
• generating, by the UE which supports the PEIPS assistance information, a paging subgrouping capability indication which indicates UE's capability to support PEIPS assistance information;
• generating a registration request message including the paging subgrouping capability indication;
• inserting, by the UE which supports the PEIPS assistance information, UE's paging probability information in a requested PEIPS assistance information of the registration request message for initiating the registration procedure;
• transmitting the registration request message for initiating the registration procedure to an access and mobility management function (AMF) in a network;
• and
• receiving a first message including the PEIPS assistance information from the AMF in the network,
• wherein the PEIPS assistance information includes a paging subgroup identifier (ID),
• wherein a non-access stratum (NAS) layer of the UE indicates the PEIPS assistance information including the paging subgroup ID to a lower layer of the UE.
