Abstract
An RFID system includes an RFID antenna assembly configured to be positioned on a product module assembly of a processing system. The product module assembly is configured to releasably engage at least one product container. A first RFID tag assembly configured to be positioned on the at least one product container. The at least one product container is configured to position the first RFID tag assembly within a detection zone of the RFID antenna assembly whenever the product module assembly releasably engages the at least one product container.
Claims24
A method for loading products into a processing system, comprising:
- providing a housing assembly including at least one secured access door, the access door including an RFID antenna assembly having inductive component formed as a multi-segment loop antenna assembly configured to be energized with a carrier signal;
- providing a plurality of product containers, each having an inductive component unique to a product therein;
- positioning one of said product containers proximate said at least one secured access door;
- receiving a signal from said inductive component to allow RFID-based actuation of the processing system if the appropriate inductive component is positioned proximate the RFID antenna assembly;
- and
- opening said at least one secured access door if said RFID-based actuation is engaged.
A method for loading products into a processing system, comprising:
- providing a housing assembly including a plurality of secured access doors configured to receive a specified product, each of said access doors including an RFID antenna assembly having inductive component formed as a multi-segment loop antenna assembly configured to be energized with a carrier signal;
- providing a plurality of product containers, each having an inductive component unique to a product therein;
- positioning one of said product containers proximate one of said secured access doors;
- receiving a signal from said inductive component to allow RFID-based actuation of the processing system if the appropriate inductive component is positioned proximate the RFID antenna assembly;
- and
- opening said proximate secured access door if said RFID-based actuation is engaged.
