Driving tool with rotating member to move striking unit

A driving tool comprising:

• a striking unit configured to move along a moving axis in a first direction to strike a fastener and in a second direction opposite the first direction;
• a first transmission portion provided on the striking unit;
• a driving mechanism comprising:
• a motor;
• an output element coupled to the motor;
• and
• a rotating member coupled to the output element and configured to rotate about a rotational center axis in a first rotation direction in response to rotation of the motor,
• wherein the striking unit, the first transmission portion, and the rotating member are arranged in that order along a third direction intersecting the moving axis;
• and
• a second transmission portion provided on the rotating member and configured to be engaged with and released from the first transmission portion,
• wherein the output element and the rotating member are coupled via a guide and a follower, the guide extending in a direction that intersects the rotational center axis and the follower slidably engaging the guide,
• wherein, during rotation of the output element, engagement between the guide and the follower transmits a rotational force from the motor to the rotating member to rotate in the first rotation direction, and
• wherein transmission of the rotational force from the motor to the rotating member is maintained even while the follower slides within the guide.

A driving tool comprising:

• a striking unit configured to move in a first direction to strike a fastener and in a second direction opposite the first direction;
• a first transmission portion provided on the striking unit;
• a motor;
• a deceleration mechanism coupled to the motor;
• a rotating member configured to rotate about a rotational center axis in a first rotation direction;
• a second transmission portion provided on the rotating member and configured to be engaged with and released from the first transmission portion;
• and
• wherein the motor, the deceleration mechanism, and the rotating member are arranged coaxially about a common center line, and
• wherein the rotating member is configured to be movable in a third direction intersecting the center line such that the rotational center axis of the rotating member shifts away from the center line.
