Abstract
Certain aspects are directed towards an interpolator and/or a clock generator. An example interpolator generally includes: a first capacitive element; a first current source; a first switch coupled between the first capacitive element and the first current source; a second current source; a second switch coupled between the first capacitive element and the second current source; and a first comparison circuit having an input coupled to the first capacitive element.
Claims23
An interpolator, comprising:
- a first capacitive element;
- a first current source;
- a first switch coupled between the first capacitive element and the first current source;
- a second current source;
- a second switch coupled between the first capacitive element and the second current source;
- a first comparison circuit having an input coupled to the first capacitive element;
- a second capacitive element having a capacitance that is greater than a capacitance of the first capacitive element;
- a third current source;
- a third switch coupled between the second capacitive element and the third current source;
- a fourth current source;
- a fourth switch coupled between the second capacitive element and the fourth current source;
- and
- a second comparison circuit having an input coupled to the second capacitive element.

A method for clock signal generation, comprising:
- selectively coupling, via a first switch, a first current source to a first capacitive element based on input signals;
- selectively coupling, via a second switch, a second current source to the first capacitive element based on the input signals;
- comparing, via a first comparison circuit, a voltage on the first capacitive element to a first voltage threshold to generate an interpolator output signal;
- selectively coupling, via a third switch, a third current source to a second capacitive element having a capacitance that is greater than a capacitance of the first capacitive element;
- selectively coupling, via a fourth switch, a fourth current source to the second capacitive element;
- and
- comparing, via a second comparison circuit, a voltage on the second capacitive element to a second voltage threshold.
