Abstract
The present application relates to biofiltration materials for filtering a fluid. More specifically, the present application relates to a biofilter material comprising consolidated organic material, and use of such biofilter material for wastewater treatment. Provided is a biofilter bloc for wastewater treatment comprising a porous consolidated assembly of at least 20% w/w of organic materials, and wherein the consolidated assembly shows a density of about 35 kg/m3 to about 275 kg/m3.

A biofilter block for wastewater treatment comprising a porous consolidated assembly of at least 20% w/w of organic material and a binder, wherein the consolidated assembly has a density of about 60 kg/m3 to about 275 kg/m3, and wherein the organic material comprises elongated fibers having an elongation ratio of width:
- length of about 1:2000 to about 1:750.
