Abstract
A system for hydraulic parallel work systems is provided. The system includes a fixed displacement pump (110), a closed-center circuit (300), an open-center hand metering unit (HMU) (200), and a tank (120). The closed-center circuit is in fluid communication with the fixed displacement pump. The open-center HMU is in fluid communication with the fixed displacement pump at an inlet port (204) of the HMU. The tank is fluidly connected to the inlet port of the HMU when the HMU is inactive.
Claims29
A system comprising:
- a fixed displacement pump;
- a closed-center circuit in fluid communication with the fixed displacement pump;
- a tank;
- an open-center hand metering unit (HMU) in fluid communication with the fixed displacement pump at an inlet port of the HMU, the fixed displacement pump delivering a constant flow to the inlet port of the HMU for a given drive speed of the fixed displacement pump;
- and
- wherein, when the HMU is inactive, the tank is fluidly connected to the inlet port of the HMU via a flow path through the HMU that includes an outlet port of the HMU.
A vehicle including one or more hydraulic steering cylinders, the vehicle comprising:
- a fixed displacement pump;
- a closed-center steering circuit in fluid communication with the fixed displacement pump;
- a tank;
- an open-center hand metering unit (HMU) in fluid communication with the fixed displacement pump at an inlet port of the HMU, the fixed displacement pump delivering a constant flow to the inlet port of the HMU for a given drive speed of the fixed displacement pump;
- wherein, when the HMU is inactive the tank is fluidly connected to the inlet port of the HMU via a flow path through the HMU that includes an outlet port of the HMU;
- and
- wherein the closed-center steering circuit and the HMU hydraulically communicate with the one or more hydraulic steering cylinders.
A system comprising:
- a fixed displacement pump;
- a closed-center circuit in fluid communication with the fixed displacement pump, wherein the closed-center circuit includes a steering valve and an enable valve, the enable valve in fluid communication with the steering valve and including a first position and a second position, the second position configured to provide fluid communication between the fixed displacement pump and the steering valve;
- a tank;
- an open-center hand metering unit (HMU) in fluid communication with the fixed displacement pump at an inlet port of the HMU, the fixed displacement pump delivering a constant flow to the inlet port of the HMU for a given drive speed of the fixed displacement pump;
- wherein the tank is fluidly connected to the inlet port of the HMU via an outlet port of the HMU when the HMU is inactive;
- and
- a modulating valve including (i) an input port in fluid communication with the fixed displacement pump and (ii) an output port in fluid communication with the inlet port of the HMU.
