Abstract
A water display including a number of pixels or manifolds that may include water nozzles to emit streams of water and/or other utilities such as lighting is described. The water streams may be pixelated so as to provide a high resolution waveform or other choreography. The choreography transitions between waveforms to provide the appearance of a cascading or undulating wave. A tool to design the water display and simulate its appearance is also described.
Claims20
A water display configured to provide a performance, comprising:
- a plurality of pixels that are arranged in a matrix, wherein at least some of the pixels are water stream pixels that each include a water delivery device to emit a water stream, that are located adjacent to each other, that have a small form factor which reduces their footprint so that the water delivery devices of adjacent water stream pixels are spaced closely together so that the water streams emitted from their water delivery devices are in close proximity to each other or visually blend together, thereby resulting in a high density of pixelated water streams per unit area, and thereby forming a high resolution water waveform;
- and
- a controller that controls emission of the pixelated water streams to form the high resolution water waveform, and that further controls emission of the pixelated water streams to transition from the high resolution water waveform to successive high resolution water waveforms;
- wherein transitions between the successive high resolution water waveforms provides a choreography during the performance of the water display;
- to transition from the first visual water waveform to form a second visual water waveform.
