A glass article comprising:
- in mol %, more than 0% to 70% of La2O3, 0% to 80% of B2O3, 0% to 40% of SiO2, 0% to 80% of B2O3+Al2O3+SiO2, 0.1% to 85% of Gd2O3+Ga2O3+Y2O3+Yb2O3+ZrO2+TiO2+Nb2O5+Ta2O5+WO3, 0% to 15% of MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO, 0% to 35% of ZnO, 0.1% to 5% of CuO, and 0.1% to 45% of Gd2O3.
