Abstract
Disclosed is an oil leak detecting method of a brake system and an oil leak detecting system thereof. The method includes: closing a first hydraulic circuit and monitoring an amount of a leak of brake oil in a second hydraulic circuit; closing the second hydraulic circuit and monitoring an amount of a leak of brake oil in the first hydraulic circuit; and determining where brake oil leaks from among the first hydraulic circuit and the second hydraulic circuit. The first hydraulic circuit controls a flow of hydraulic pressure transmitted to two wheel cylinders. The second hydraulic circuit controls a flow of hydraulic pressure transmitted to other two wheel cylinders.
Claims15
An oil leak detecting method comprising:
- closing a first hydraulic circuit and monitoring an amount of a leak of brake oil in a second hydraulic circuit;
- closing the second hydraulic circuit and monitoring an amount of a leak of brake oil in the first hydraulic circuit;
- comparing a leak flow rate of brake oil from the first hydraulic circuit with a leak flow rate of brake oil from the second hydraulic circuit when each of the amount of leak of brake oil in the first hydraulic circuit and the amount of leak of brake oil in the second hydraulic circuit is not greater than a preset value;
- and
- determining where brake oil leaks from among the first hydraulic circuit and the second hydraulic circuit based on a comparison result of the leak flow rates,
- wherein the first hydraulic circuit controls a flow of hydraulic pressure transmitted to two wheel cylinders, and
- wherein the second hydraulic circuit controls a flow of hydraulic pressure transmitted to other two wheel cylinders.
A leak detecting system comprising:
- a first hydraulic circuit configured to control a flow of hydraulic pressure transmitted to two wheel cylinders;
- a second hydraulic circuit configured to control a flow of hydraulic pressure transmitted to other two wheel cylinders;
- first and second inlet valves for opening and closing the first hydraulic circuit;
- third and fourth inlet valves for opening and closing the second hydraulic circuit;
- and
- a controller configured to control the first, second, third and fourth inlet valves, wherein the controller is further configured to:
- close of the first hydraulic circuit and monitor an amount of leak of brake oil in the second hydraulic circuit,
- close the second hydraulic circuit, and monitor an amount of leak of brake oil in the first hydraulic circuit,
- compare a leak flow rate of brake oil from the first hydraulic circuit with a leak flow rate of brake oil from the second hydraulic circuit when each of the amount of leak of brake oil in the first hydraulic circuit and the amount of leak of brake oil in the second hydraulic circuit is not greater than a preset value, and
- determine where brake oil leaks from among the first hydraulic circuit and the second hydraulic circuit based on a comparison result of the leak flow rates.
