Abstract
A bearing monitoring/analysis system includes an acoustic emission sensor positioned adjacent a fluid film bearing, component thereof, and/or adjacent structure such that the acoustic emission sensor may collect a signal from the bearing, wherein the signal may be analyzed to allow a user to gain information regarding the fluid film bearing.
Claims21
A system comprising:
- a fluid film bearing comprising one or more components;
- and
- one or more acoustic emission sensors positioned on a surface of at least one of the one or more components, wherein at least one of the one or more acoustic emission sensors is configured to collect data from the fluid film bearing regarding a condition of one or more pads of the fluid film bearing, and the at least one of the one or more acoustic emission sensors is on a pad of the one or more pads.
A method, comprising:
- positioning one or more acoustic emission sensors on a surface of one or more pads of a fluid film bearing;
- and
- collecting, from a signal received from at least one of the one or more acoustic emission sensors, data from the fluid film bearing regarding a condition of at least one of the one or more pads.
A system comprising:
- a fluid film bearing comprising one or more components;
- and
- one or more acoustic emission sensors positioned on a surface of at least one of the one or more components, wherein at least one of the one or more acoustic emission sensors is configured to collect data from the fluid film bearing regarding a condition of one or more pads of the fluid film bearing,
- wherein at least one of the one or more components comprises a radial surface, and at least one of the one or more acoustic emission sensors is on the radial surface of the at least one of the one or more components.
