A hydrodynamic separator configured for installation within a stormwater drainage infrastructure, wherein the hydrodynamic separator has a substantially circular wall with a top, with one or more access openings, a bottom, an inlet pipe and an outlet pipe, and a sump chamber;
- wherein the hydrodynamic separator, contains three flow weirs each serving a specific function including a flow splitter, an oil-floatables skimmer, and an outlet weir, wherein the outlet weir includes a shelf and a weir wall extending upward from the shelf;
- wherein the flow splitter is attached to the substantially circular wall of the hydrodynamic separator such that water entering via the inlet pipe encounters the flow splitter and water flow is split outward along the substantially circular wall of the hydrodynamic separator,
- wherein water travels along the substantially circular wall toward the oil-floatables skimmer and is directed toward the center of the hydrodynamic separator and then back toward the flow splitter and continues in two circular motions,
- wherein water must flow towards the oil-floatables skimmer, the oil-floatables skimmer having a bottom positioned below the outlet pipe and a top positioned above a top of the weir wall so that all water must pass under the oil-floatables skimmer bottom,
- wherein the water that travels under the oil-floatables skimmer, must travel back upward and pass over the top of the weir wall to exit into the outlet pipe, the outlet weir is attached to the substantially circular wall via mounts, and positioned so that the shelf and the weir wall of the outlet weir are disposed across the outlet pipe so that the water must pass over the weir wall.
A hydrodynamic separator configured for installation within a stormwater drainage infrastructure, wherein the hydrodynamic separator has a substantially circular wall with a top, with a top access opening, a bottom, an inlet pipe and an outlet pipe, and a sump chamber,
- wherein the hydrodynamic separator contains two flow weirs, each serving a specific function including an oil-floatables skimmer and an outlet weir;
- wherein water entering via the inlet pipe is directed into the sump chamber of the hydrodynamic separator,
- wherein water travels toward the oil-floatables skimmer,
- wherein water must flow downward towards the oil-floatables skimmer, a bottom of the oil-floatables skimmer is positioned below the outlet pipe and a top of the oil-floatables skimmer is positioned above a top of the outlet weir so that all water must pass under the bottom of the oil-floatables skimmer,
- wherein the water that travels under the oil-floatables skimmer, must travel back upward and pass over the outlet weir to exit into the outlet pipe, the outlet weir having a shelf and an upright wall and the outlet weir being attached to the substantially circular wall, and positioned so that the upright wall and shelf of the outlet weir are disposed across the outlet pipe so that water must pass over the upright wall.
A hydrodynamic separator configured for installation within a stormwater drainage infrastructure, wherein the hydrodynamic separator has a substantially circular wall with a top, with a top access opening, a bottom, an inlet pipe and an outlet pipe, and a sump chamber,
- wherein the hydrodynamic separator contains two flow weirs each serving a specific function including a flow splitter with one or more side openings and an outlet weir;
- wherein the flow splitter is attached to the substantially circular wall of the hydrodynamic separator, such that water entering via the inlet pipe encounters the flow splitter and water flow is split outward along the substantially circular wall of the hydrodynamic separator,
- wherein water travels along the substantially circular wall toward the outlet weir,
- wherein the water must pass over the outlet weir exit into the outlet pipe, the outlet weir having a shelf and an upright wall and the outlet weir being attached to the substantially circular wall of hydrodynamic separator, and positioned so that the shelf and upright wall of the outlet weir are disposed across the outlet pipe so that water must pass over the upright wall of the outlet weir;
- wherein the flow splitter is spaced apart from the outlet weir and separate from the outlet weir.
A hydrodynamic separator configured for installation within a stormwater drainage infrastructure, wherein the hydrodynamic separator has a substantially circular wall with a top, having a top access opening, a bottom, an inlet pipe and an outlet pipe, and a sump chamber,
- wherein the hydrodynamic separator includes an outlet weir;
- wherein water must pass over the outlet weir to exit into the outlet pipe, the outlet weir having a shelf and an upright wall and the outlet weir being attached to the substantially circular wall of the hydrodynamic separator, and positioned so that the upright wall and shelf of the outlet weir are disposed across the outlet pipe so that water must pass over the upright wall, wherein the outlet weir contains one or more orifice control holes in the shelf and/or upright wall.
