Abstract
Methods and apparatus are described that enable consumers of media content to identify and navigate to content of interest. A graphical user interface (GUI) is provided in association with media content in which entities (e.g., keywords or distinct speakers) represented in the media content are presented in relation to the media timeline of the media content.
Claims24
A device, comprising one or more processors and memory configured to cause:
- presenting a user interface on a display associated with the device, the user interface including one or more elements configured for identifying portions of media content presented on the display at a plurality of time scales;
- obtaining first input representing use of the one or more elements of the user interface and use of a first set of entities presented on the display to identify a first portion of the media content;
- discovering a second set of entities in the first portion of the media content;
- presenting the second set of entities on the display, the second set of entities being represented in a first range of the media content corresponding to the first portion of the media content;
- obtaining second input representing use of the one or more elements of the user interface and use of the second set of entities presented on the display to identify a second portion in the first portion of the media content;
- and
- presenting a third set of entities on the display, the third set of entities being represented in a second range of the media content corresponding to the second portion of the media content.
A device, comprising one or more processors and memory configured to cause:
- presenting a user interface on a display associated with the device, the user interface including one or more elements configured for identifying portions of media content presented on the display at a plurality of time scales;
- obtaining first input representing use of the one or more elements of the user interface and use of a first set of entities presented on the display to identify a first portion of the media content;
- discovering a second set of entities in the first portion of the media content;
- presenting the second set of entities on the display, the second set of entities being represented in a first range of the media content corresponding to the first portion of the media content;
- obtaining second input representing use of the one or more elements of the user interface and use of the second set of entities presented on the display to identify a second portion in the first portion of the media content;
- and
- presenting a third set of entities on the display, the third set of entities being represented in a second range of the media content corresponding to the second portion of the media content;
- wherein the second and third sets of entities are identifiable using metadata associated with the media content.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-readable program code executable by one or more processors, the program code comprising instructions configured to cause:
- presenting a user interface on a display associated with a device, the user interface including one or more elements configured for identifying portions of media content presented on the display at a plurality of time scales;
- obtaining first input representing use of the one or more elements of the user interface and use of a first set of entities presented on the display to identify a first portion of the media content;
- discovering a second set of entities in the first portion of the media content;
- presenting the second set of entities on the display, the second set of entities being represented in a first range of the media content corresponding to the first portion of the media content;
- obtaining second input representing use of the one or more elements of the user interface and use of the second set of entities presented on the display to identify a second portion in the first portion of the media content;
- and
- presenting a third set of entities on the display, the third set of entities being represented in a second range of the media content corresponding to the second portion of the media content.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-readable program code executable by one or more processors, the program code comprising instructions configured to cause:
- presenting a user interface on a display associated with a device, the user interface including one or more elements configured for identifying portions of media content presented on the display at a plurality of time scales;
- obtaining first input representing use of the one or more elements of the user interface and use of a first set of entities presented on the display to identify a first portion of the media content;
- discovering a second set of entities in the first portion of the media content;
- presenting the second set of entities on the display, the second set of entities being represented in a first range of the media content corresponding to the first portion of the media content;
- obtaining second input representing use of the one or more elements of the user interface and use of the second set of entities presented on the display to identify a second portion in the first portion of the media content;
- and
- presenting a third set of entities on the display, the third set of entities being represented in a second range of the media content corresponding to the second portion of the media content;
- wherein the second and third sets of entities are identifiable using metadata associated with the media content.
