Abstract
Disclosed is a method for creating a composite colloidal particle formulation with advanced functionality that possesses highly efficient and effective properties. The composite colloidal particle formulation comprises an engineered biodegradable particle core dispersed in a bioadhesive polyelectrolyte solution. Also disclosed are methods of use of the same, including but not limited to applying said formulation to plants for disease treatment.
Claims13
A composite colloidal particle formulation ready for administration to treat or prevent disease in plants comprising:
- a solid colloidal particle dispersed in a volume of a polyelectrolyte solution,
- wherein the solid colloidal particle is plant-derived and comprises a lignin or modified hydrophobic lignin, and
- wherein the volume of polyelectrolyte solution is a liquid continuous phase and comprises a chitosan, water, and ethanol,
- wherein the formulation is fully biodegradable.
