Abstract
Systems and methods provide user equipment (UE) coordinated channel state information (CSI) measurement and reporting. One or both of a first UE and a second UE may perform CSI measurement, but only the first UE sends a CSI report to a base station.
Claims20
A method for a base station in a wireless network, the method comprising:
- receiving a message from a first user equipment (UE) indicating a supported mode for UE coordination based channel state information (CSI) feedback;
- based on the supported mode, configuring the first UE and one or more second UE for either a first mode wherein both the first UE and the one or more second UE perform CSI measurements to be reported by the first UE or a second mode wherein only the first UE performs the CSI measurements to be reported by the first UE;
- triggering CSI reporting for the first UE and the one or more second UE in a coordination group;
- and
- processing one or more CSI report from the first UE for the first UE and the one or more second UE in the coordination group.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a base station in a wireless network, configure the base station to:
- receive a message from a first user equipment (UE) indicating a supported mode for UE coordination based channel state information (CSI) feedback;
- based on the supported mode, configure the first UE and one or more second UE for either a first mode wherein both the first UE and the one or more second UE perform CSI measurements to be reported by the first UE or a second mode wherein only the first UE performs the CSI measurements to be reported by the first UE;
- trigger CSI reporting for the first UE and the one or more second UE in a coordination group;
- and
- process one or more CSI report from the first UE for the first UE and the one or more second UE in the coordination group.
An apparatus for a base station in a wireless network, the apparatus comprising:
- a memory device to store message from a first user equipment (UE) indicating a supported mode for UE coordination based channel state information (CSI) feedback;
- and
- one or more processors to:
- based on the supported mode, configure the first UE and one or more second UE for either a first mode wherein both the first UE and the one or more second UE perform CSI measurements to be reported by the first UE or a second mode wherein only the first UE performs the CSI measurements to be reported by the first UE;
- trigger CSI reporting for the first UE and the one or more second UE in a coordination group;
- and
- process one or more CSI report from the first UE for the first UE and the one or more second UE in the coordination group.
