Abstract
A rechargeable battery includes: a case receiving an electrode assembly and including an opening; a cap assembly including a cap plate coupled to the case and covering the opening, and a terminal plate coupled to the cap plate; and a housing covering the cap plate and coupled to the case, and an outer surface of the terminal plate protrudes more than an outer surface of the housing to have a height difference.
Claims13
A button cell comprising:
- a case receiving an electrode assembly and comprising an opening;
- a cap assembly comprising a cap plate coupled to and electrically connected to the case and covering the opening, and a terminal plate coupled to the cap plate;
- and
- a housing covering the cap plate and coupled to the case,
- wherein the terminal plate protrudes through a terminal hole of the cap plate such that an outer surface of the terminal plate protrudes more than an outer surface of the housing to have a height difference, and
- the cap plate and the terminal plate are thermally fused with a thermal-fusion member therebetween and are electrically insulated from each other, the thermal-fusion member being spaced outside the terminal hole of the cap plate so as not to overlap the terminal hole.
