Head-mounted type display device and method of controlling head-mounted type display device

A head-mounted type display device mounted on a head of user, the head mounted display device comprising:

• a display that has an emitting region displaying a character string;
• and
• a processor that detects a first character that is a character to be displayed in an emphasized manner from the character string based on setting information, wherein
• the character string includes a second character that is not a character to be displayed in an emphasized manner based on the setting information,
• the processor causes the display to adjust a display position of the first character within the emitting region such that a convergence angle of the first character is smaller than a convergence angle of the second character.
