Abstract
A display device includes a substrate; a plurality of pixels provided on the substrate; and a plurality of inorganic light emitting elements provided on each of the pixels. The inorganic light emitting elements each include a semiconductor substrate having a first face facing the substrate and a second face provided in a convex shape on a side opposite from the first face; and a plurality of semiconductor nanowires provided on the first face, the semiconductor nanowires extending in a direction perpendicular to the first face.
Claims12
A display device comprising:
- a substrate;
- a plurality of pixels provided on the substrate;
- a plurality of inorganic light emitting elements provided on each of the pixels;
- and
- a reflective plate provided on the substrate, wherein
- the inorganic light emitting elements each includes:
- a semiconductor substrate having a first face facing the substrate and a second face provided in a convex shape on a side opposite from the first face;
- a plurality of semiconductor nanowires provided on the first face, the semiconductor nanowires extending in a direction perpendicular to the first face;
- protective layers covering the respective semiconductor nanowires;
- and
- a contact layer covering the semiconductor nanowires and the protective layers provided on the first face,
- the contact layer is coupled onto the reflective plate,
- the protective layers include a transition metal oxide,
- lower ends of the protective layers are electrically coupled to the reflective plate, and
- in the contact layer, the protective layers entirely cover vertical sides and lower portions of the respective semiconductor nanowires, the lower portions facing the reflective plate.
