Designer control devices

A method performed by a wearable device while worn by a user, the method comprising:

• receiving a biometric sensor data from a biometric sensor that is a part of the wearable device;
• capturing, using a microphone of the wearable device, an ambient sound of an environment, wherein the biometric sensor data is received and the ambient sound is captured while the wearable device is worn by the user;
• determining a sound pressure level (SPL) of the ambient sound;
• determining a SPL dose of a personal sound exposure of the user based on the SPL of the ambient sound, wherein the SPL dose comprises a percentage of an accumulated SPL dose or a time remaining value before a threshold shift occurs;
• determining that the user has a health change based on the SPL dose;
• responsive to determining that the user has the health change,
• providing a notification to the user that includes the SPL dose;
• and
• wirelessly transmitting at least one of the SPL dose and the biometric sensor data to an electronic device belonging to a second party,
• wherein the wearable device is at least one of an earphone, a headset having two earphones, a wrist-worn device, or a neck-worn device.

A method performed by a wearable device, the method comprising:

• receiving biometric sensor data from a biometric sensor of the wearable device;
• capturing, using a microphone of the wearable device, an ambient sound of an environment, wherein the biometric sensor data is received and the ambient sound is captured while the wearable device is worn by a user;
• determining a sound pressure level (SPL) of the ambient sound;
• determining a SPL dose of a personal sound exposure of the user based on the SPL of the ambient sound, wherein the SPL dose comprises a percentage of an accumulated SPL dose or a time remaining value before a threshold shift occurs;
• transmitting a first notification that includes the biometric sensor data to an electronic device belonging to a second party;
• and
• outputting, by the wearable device, a second notification that includes the SPL dose to the user.
