Creating augmented content items

A computing apparatus comprising:

• a processor;
• and
• a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, configure the apparatus to perform operations comprising:
• causing presentation of a third-party user input content item on a user device of a user;
• determining a first content augmentation of the third-party user input content item by a first content augmentation function;
• responsive to determining the first content augmentation of the third-party user input content item, automatically causing presentation on the user device of a camera graphical element, the camera graphical element being user-selectable to invoke a camera function and cause presentation of a first content augmentation selection graphical element that is user-selectable to invoke the first content augmentation function;
• determining user selection of the camera graphical element;
• and
• responsive to determining the user selection of the camera graphical element, invoking:
• the camera function, the camera function enabling the user to select a second user input content item, and
• presentation of the first content augmentation selection graphical element that is user-selectable to invoke the first content augmentation function.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, the computer-readable storage medium including instructions that when executed by a computer, cause the computer to perform operations comprising:

• causing presentation of a third-party user input content item on a user device of a user;
• determining a first content augmentation of the third-party user input content item by a first content augmentation function;
• responsive to determining the first content augmentation of the third-party user input content item, automatically causing presentation on the user device of a camera graphical element, the camera graphical element being user-selectable to invoke a camera function and cause presentation of a first content augmentation selection graphical element that is user-selectable to invoke the first content augmentation function;
• determining user selection of the camera graphical element;
• and
• responsive to determining the user selection of the camera graphical element, invoking:
• the camera function, the camera function enabling the user to select a second user input content item, and
• presentation of the first content augmentation selection graphical element that is user-selectable to invoke the first content augmentation function.
