Motorized system having a plurality of power sources

A surgical system, comprising:

• a surgical instrument, comprising:
• an end effector;
• and
• a motor to cause the end effector to perform a treatment motion;
• and
• a plurality of power packs comprising:
• a first power pack removably couplable with the surgical instrument;
• and
• a second power pack removably couplable with the surgical instrument independent of the first power pack, wherein the second power pack is to maintain power to the motor in absence of the first power pack.

A surgical system, comprising:

• a surgical instrument, comprising:
• an end effector;
• and
• a motor to cause the end effector to perform a treatment motion;
• and
• a plurality of power sources comprising:
• a first power source removably couplable with the surgical instrument, the first power source comprising first power cells, wherein the first power cells define a first voltage potential;
• and
• a second power source removably couplable with the surgical instrument independent of the first power source, wherein the second power source is to maintain power to the motor in absence of the first power source, wherein the second power source comprises second power cells, wherein the second power cells define a second voltage potential, wherein the first voltage potential and the second voltage potential are different.
