Method and apparatus for radio resource management in wireless communication system

A wireless device configured to operate in a wireless communication system comprising:

• a transceiver;
• a memory storing instructions;
• and
• at least one processor operatively coupled to the transceiver and the memory, and configured to execute the instructions to perform operations comprising:
• receiving, from a source cell, a measurement configuration;
• receiving a handover command for a dual active protocol stack (DAPS) handover to a target cell;
• triggering the DAPS handover to the target cell based on the handover command, while maintaining configurations of the source cell until release of the source cell;
• detecting a failure of the DAPS, handover to the target cell;
• and
• after detecting the failure of the DAPS handover:
• obtaining measurement results for one or more neighbor cells based on the measurement configuration received from the source cell, and
• transmitting, to the source cell, a measurement report comprising the measurement results for the one or more neighbor cells based on a condition for transferring the measurement results being satisfied.

A processor for a wireless device in a wireless communication system, wherein the processor is configured to control the wireless device to perform operations comprising:

• receiving, from a source cell, a measurement configuration;
• receiving a handover command for a dual active protocol stack (DAPS) handover to a target cell;
• triggering the DAPS handover to the target cell based on the handover command, while maintaining configurations of the source cell until release of the source cell;
• detecting a failure of the DAPS handover to the target cell;
• and
• after detecting the failure of the DAPS mobility handover:
• obtaining measurement results for one or more neighbor cells based on the measurement configuration received from the source cell, and
• transmitting, to the source cell, a measurement report comprising the measurement results for the one or more neighbor cells based on a condition for transferring the measurement results being satisfied.
