Ordering multiple commands issued by multiple computing devices in a network, when chronological ordering is not possible

A method comprising:

• obtaining a first graph including multiple nodes and multiple edges connecting the multiple nodes,
• wherein a node in the first graph represents a command issued by a computing device among multiple computing devices,
• wherein a process to create a linear order of the multiple nodes associated with the first graph produces a matching linear order when executed on the first graph by two different computing devices among the multiple computing devices,
• wherein an addition of the node to the multiple nodes associated with the first graph changes the linear order of the multiple nodes associated with the first graph;
• obtaining an indication to stop changing the linear order of the multiple nodes associated with the first graph;
• and
• upon obtaining the indication to stop changing the linear order of the multiple nodes associated with the first graph, adding a finalize node to the first graph to obtain a second graph,
• wherein upon adding the finalize node to the first graph, the addition of the node to the second graph does not change the linear order of the multiple nodes associated with the first graph.

A system comprising:

• at least one hardware processor;
• and
• at least one non-transitory memory storing instructions, which, when executed by the at least one hardware processor, cause the system to:
• obtain a first graph including multiple nodes and multiple edges connecting the multiple nodes,
• wherein a node in the first graph represents a command issued by a computing device among multiple computing devices,
• wherein a process to create a weave of the multiple nodes associated with the first graph produces a matching weave when executed on the first graph by two different computing devices among the multiple computing devices,
• wherein the weave is an ordering of the multiple nodes,
• wherein an addition of the node to the multiple nodes associated with the first graph changes the weave of the multiple nodes associated with the first graph;
• obtain an indication to stop changing the weave of the multiple nodes associated with the first graph;
• and
• upon obtaining the indication to stop changing the weave of the multiple nodes associated with the first graph, add a finalize node to the first graph to obtain a second graph,
• wherein upon adding the finalize node to the first graph, the addition of the node to the second graph does not change the weave of the multiple nodes associated with the first graph.
