Abstract
A monitoring device obtains an image stream of at least a part of a room of a patient. The monitoring device identifies, from a first image of the image stream, first states of the part of the room. The monitoring device identifies, from a second image of the image stream, second states of the part of the room. The monitoring device compares the first states to the second states to identify a change indicating an active state. The monitoring device transmits, in response to identifying the active state, a notification to a server. The server transmits, in response to receiving the notification, an alert to a user device associated with a healthcare provider.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- obtaining, by a monitoring device, an image stream of at least a part of a room of a patient;
- identifying, by the monitoring device from a first image of the image stream, first states of the part of the room;
- identifying, by the monitoring device from a second image of the image stream, second states of the part of the room;
- comparing, by the monitoring device, the first states to the second states to identify a change indicating an active state;
- transmitting, by the monitoring device in response to identifying the active state, a notification to a server;
- and
- transmitting, by the server in response to receiving the notification, an alert to a user device associated with a healthcare provider.
A system for monitoring patient environments, comprising:
- a monitoring device configured to:
- obtain an image stream of at least a part of a room of a patient;
- identify first states of the part of the room from a first image of the image stream;
- identify second states of the part of the room from a second image of the image stream;
- compare the first states to the second states to identify a change indicating an active state;
- and
- transmit a notification in response to identifying the active state to a server;
- the server configured to:
- receive the notification from the monitoring device;
- and
- transmit an alert in response to the notification to a user device;
- and
- the user device associated with a healthcare provider configured to
- receive the alert from the server.
Non-transitory computer-readable media having stored thereon instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:
- obtaining, by a monitoring device, an image stream of at least a part of a room of a patient;
- identifying, by the monitoring device from a first image of the image stream, first states of the part of the room;
- identifying, by the monitoring device from a second image of the image stream, second states of the part of the room;
- comparing, by the monitoring device, the first states to the second states to identify a change indicating an active state;
- transmitting, by the monitoring device in response to identifying the active state, a notification to a server;
- and
- transmitting, by the server in response to receiving the notification, an alert to a user device associated with a healthcare provider.
