Methods for augmented reality gaming

A method of enabling augmented reality gaming, the method comprising:

• controlling a camera on a mobile device using an augmented reality gaming assistance component;
• enabling a user to employ the camera to capture an image of a game screen display;
• sending the captured image via a network to a server;
• determining, by the server, from the captured image, a game paytable, a current state of the game and a current wager amount;
• determining, by the server, one or more possible strategies for the game based on the determined game paytable, the current state of the game and the current wager amount;
• receiving, at the mobile device, the game paytable, the current state of the game, the current wager amount and one or more possible strategies determined by the server;
• displaying content based on the game paytable, the current state of the game, the current wager amount and the one or more possible strategies to the user via a display on the mobile device;
• allowing selection, on the mobile device, of one of the one or more strategies;
• and
• displaying the odds of one or more possible game outcomes for the selected strategy via the display on the mobile device.
