Abstract
A technique for selectively scrambling data obtained by electronic sensor devices, such as cameras, voice communication devices, and the like, is provided. A payload of the data is scrambled when one or more characteristics of the data indicate that the data may include sensitive information. The scrambled data is transmitted to a target device.
Claims18
An electronic device, comprising:
- one or more processors;
- a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
- receive data captured by one or more electronic sensor devices;
- determine a time period to intercept additional data from the electronic sensor devices to be transmitted to an additional electronic device based on characteristics of the data;
- intercept the additional data within the time period;
- determine that the additional data comprises sensitive information;
- scramble a payload portion of the additional data to generate scrambled data based on the additional data comprising the sensitive information;
- and
- transmit the scrambled data to the additional electronic device.
One or more tangible, non-transitory, computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to:
- receive data transmitted by an electronic sensor;
- determine a time period to intercept additional data from the electronic sensor to be transmitted to a target device based on one or more characteristics of the data being characterized as sensitive information and a comparison of the data to reference data;
- intercept the additional data within the time period;
- scramble a payload portion of the additional data to generate scrambled data based on the additional data comprising sensitive information;
- and
- transmit the scrambled data to the target device.
A method, comprising:
- receiving, via one or more processors, sensor data transmitted by an electronic sensor;
- determining, via the one or more processors, a time period to intercept additional sensor data from the electronic sensor to be transmitted to a target device based on characteristics of the sensor data;
- intercepting the additional sensor data within the time period;
- determining that the additional sensor data comprises sensitive information;
- scrambling, via the one or more processors, a payload portion of the additional sensor data to generate scrambled data based on the additional data comprising the sensitive information;
- and
- transmitting, via the one or more processors, the scrambled data to the target device.
